GA Telesis has placed an order for an additional six 737-800SF freighter conversions with Aeronautical Engineers (AEI).
The first aircraft of this new order will commence modification in March 2022, and all modification and maintenance requirements will be performed by Commercial Jet – an authorised AEI conversion centre – in Dothan, Alabama, US.
The remaining aircraft are scheduled to be converted at three other authorised AEI conversion centres. The last aircraft of this order will commence modification in May 2023, the companies said.
In July, GA Telesis added four 737-800SF freighter conversions to its initial order. Upon completion of all orders, GA Telesis will own a fleet of twelve AEI 737-800SF freighters.
The new order was executed by GA Telesis’ LIFT (Leasing, Investments, Finance & Trading) Group.
“We have a very aggressive and deliberate strategy that has continued to grow since launching our first conversion over a year ago, and we will continue to refine it to include other aircraft platforms in support of our cargo airline customers worldwide,” said LIFT Group president Marc Cho.
The AEI converted 737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 52,700 lbs (23,904 kg) and incorporates eleven full height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH. The conversion also incorporates new floor beams aft of the wing box, and an 86” x 137” main cargo door with a single vent door system.
