Dublin-based aircraft leasing company Genesis has entered into an agreement with Boeing to convert two 737-800 aircraft into freighters.
The first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) will be completed and ready to enter into service in spring 2022, Genesis said, with a second aircraft ready to enter operations in early 2023.
“This new partnership with Boeing will enable Genesis to convert 737-800 aircraft by leveraging our existing portfolio in order to provide solutions to our expanding customer base and serve the growing e-commerce market well into the next decade,” said Genesis’ CEO Karl Griffin.
Boeing vice president of Commercial Services sales Anbessie Yitbarek commented: “As the newest member of the Boeing Converted Freighter family, Genesis joins a growing list of global customers that have chosen the market-leading 737-800BCF.
“The 737-800BCF offers the volume, payload and range Genesis needs, and does so with superior operating efficiency, lower operating costs and world-class in-service technical support.”
