Globe Air Cargo is new GSSA to airBaltic in UK

ECS Group’s UK subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo UK, has been appointed as the General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) for airBaltic in the UK. Under the partnership, Globe Air Cargo UK will manage the belly cargo capacity on airBaltic’s flights from London Gatwick, Manchester and Aberdeen to Riga and Tallinn, improving UK access to the Baltic region and wider Europe.

The agreement covers 17 weekly flights from London Gatwick to Riga and Tallinn from 6 March 2026, with new Aberdeen–Riga services starting on 2 June 2026 and Manchester flights resuming on 13 December 2026. Cargo will be carried on airBaltic’s modern Airbus A220-300 fleet, suited to mail, e-commerce, general cargo and pets.

“This new GSSA contract with airBaltic offers a true win-win situation. It opens up cargo capacities to key destinations in Europe and, in particular, the Baltic regions, which were previously not served from the UK. So, Globe Air Cargo UK’s freight forwarding customers across the UK now have increased global access,” says Jean Ceccaldi, Chief Executive Officer of ECS Group.

Both companies highlight the benefits of combining Globe Air Cargo UK’s market reach, customer base and digital tools with airBaltic’s growing network, modern fleet and new cargo infrastructure in Riga. The partnership supports airBaltic’s strategy to position Latvia as a key Northern European logistics hub and aims to strengthen cargo performance and growth from the UK.

The contract was officially signed on 4 February 2026 at airBaltic’s Baltic Cargo Center at Riga Airport.
