Jettainer brings IoT tracking to Cebu Pacific in expanded ULD deal

Cebu Pacific has renewed and expanded its partnership with Jettainer

Philippines-based Cebu Pacific has renewed and expanded its partnership with Jettainer for the continued provision of unit load device (ULD) management and maintenance services, while also introducing the company’s latest IoT tracking technology.

Under the extended agreement, Jettainer will continue supplying a customised ULD fleet to support equipment availability across Cebu Pacific’s flight network. The fleet will be managed through Jettainer’s intelligent IT platform, JettwareNG.

As part of the expanded partnership, Cebu Pacific will also gain access to Jettainer’s latest IoT tracking solution, which combines LoRa and BLE technology with cellular-enabled units acting as mobile readers.

According to Jettainer, the meshing technology creates a dynamic, self-expanding network designed to improve visibility, support more efficient asset use and reduce unnecessary repositioning, contributing to sustainability targets.

The agreement also includes the deployment of a dedicated customer service manager, who will provide on-site operational support to Cebu Pacific and help streamline processes across the carrier’s growing network.

Cebu Pacific and Jettainer first began working together in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the partnership continuing to develop in the years since.

Following the recovery in global air traffic, Cebu Pacific has continued to expand, operating a fleet of 100 aircraft, including 14 Airbus A330neo. The airline says it is also continuing to grow its domestic and international network, while maintaining its position as a key air cargo carrier in the Philippines.

Javier Massot, chief operations officer of Cebu Pacific, said: “Jettainer has been a reliable and innovative partner throughout our growth journey. Their consistent ULD availability, seamless operational integration and proactive support have helped us drive efficiency and reduce unnecessary ULD movements, supporting our sustainability efforts.”

Thorsten Riekert, chief sales officer of Jettainer, added: “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Cebu Pacific for their sustained trust and look forward to continuing our joint growth trajectory.

“Innovative services that add value, combined with customer proximity, are important priorities for us as we strive to always provide the best possible support.”
