Wizz Air has awarded Menzies Aviation a five-year contract to provide ground handling services at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport.

A 200-strong Menzies team will deliver passenger, ramp and cleaning services for the low-cost carrier at its Budapest base.

The contract broadens the existing relationship between Menzies and Wizz Air. The logistics company already provides handling services for the airline at London Gatwick, Prague, Cluj, Timișoara, Iasi and Sibiu.

Menzies Aviation Europe’ executive vice president Miguel Gomez commented: “This award is a result of the strong relationship established with Wizz by the Menzies teams across Europe and represents an opportunity for us to expand our footprint as a major player in the Eastern European market.
