Network Airline Services (NAS) and Sri Lankan Airlines have operated three flights from Entebbe, Uganda, carrying delicacies of the sea.
Sri Lankan Airlines operated various ad-hoc charters into Entebbe – a destination it doesn’t usually fly to. Within 24 hours NAS Nairobi managing director Sarah Wangui and the wider Entebbe team took advantage of the opportunity and generated a load consisting of fish maws across 135 pieces.
Fish maws are considered to be one of the top four delicacies of the sea in Asian culture, and the cargo was bound for Hong Kong.
NAS sales director John Gilfeather commented: “This is great work from the team in Uganda, where they reacted so quickly in such a short space of time to secure cargo ready for these flights.”
The charter flights operated with an A330-300 passenger aircraft out of Entebbe International Airport, with the first flight departing on 23 February.
