Radia partners with Blue Water Shipping to promote WindRunner oversized cargo aircraft
Radia, the developer of the planned WindRunner™ oversized cargo aircraft, has entered into a strategic marketing collaboration with project logistics specialist Blue Water Shipping to jointly promote integrated transport solutions for complex and oversized freight.
The partnership will see the companies position themselves as preferred partners, combining WindRunner’s planned airlift capabilities with Blue Water Shipping’s expertise in multimodal logistics, customs, ports and project cargo operations.
The initial focus will be on industries requiring the transportation of exceptionally large cargo, including energy and project cargo, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, aerospace logistics, and military and defence-related transport.
WindRunner is being developed to address the challenges of transporting oversized cargo that cannot be moved efficiently through existing transport networks.
Designed to operate from semi-prepared airfields and infrastructure-constrained locations, the aircraft aims to deliver large cargo closer to its final destination while reducing the need for disassembly and shortening project timelines.
Blue Water Shipping brings experience in handling oversized industrial equipment, wind turbine components, aerospace assets, humanitarian supplies and defence cargo through its global project logistics network.
Mark Lundstrom, founder and chief executive of Radia, said: “Many of the industries we support are constrained not only by infrastructure, but by the inability to efficiently move oversized cargo where and when it is needed. By combining WindRunner’s transformational airlift capabilities with Blue Water Shipping’s global logistics expertise, we believe we can help create more flexible and resilient transportation solutions for customers operating in some of the world’s most challenging environments.”
Rasmus Svane, head of global product development wind at Blue Water Shipping, added: “Blue Water Shipping has extensive experience delivering complex logistics solutions across industries that depend on precision, reliability, and flexibility. Our collaboration with Radia represents an exciting opportunity to explore new logistics models for oversized cargo and help customers rethink what is possible when combining multimodal transportation solutions.”
The companies also plan to collaborate on joint marketing activities, attend selected industry events together and explore business development opportunities across targeted global sectors.
