Investors are drawn to the futurism of ‘flying cars’ and, despite the market for such vehicles being very niche, there are scores of proposals for new designs of propulsion systems and avionics as well as cabin and cockpit designs. I met representatives from a number of the companies promoting them at Farnborough earlier in the year, and even though the journey to bringing production ready vehicles to market will be long, everyone i spoke to was excited by the prospect.
