FL Technics, a globally recognised aviation MRO provider, will be opening its own in-house sewing shop under the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Part-21J approval, allowing it to offer its clients a broader range of services.
The new sewing capability will include a selection of products related to aircraft cabin and passenger convenience, such as aircraft seat covers, curtains, blankets, bags, and straps, among others.
The in-house shop will be equipped with state-of-the-art sewing machines and will maintain a stock of approved fabrics and materials, all of which meet aviation industry standards.
“The expansion was a natural step towards the company’s development and business growth,” said Donaldas Barkauskas, head of the aviation design and production department at FL Technics. “FL Technics provides modifications for various commercial aircraft types under EASA Part-21J and now, having sewing services in-house, we will ensure more efficient design solutions for our customers.”
Now airlines, leasing companies, and other clients in Europe, the Middle East, South-East Asia, North Africa, and Central Asia that work with FL Technics will be able to receive aircraft-related modifications from one provider.
FL Technics says that by having the sewing service within the organisation will also ensure a smoother process between the Design Organization Approval (DOA) and the sewing shop. This means FL Technics will be able to deliver the full scope of maintenance services including DOA, product organisation approvals (POA), and base maintenance from the first requests through to the final installations.
“For those, choosing raw materials from our stock, we will be able to deliver products even faster. For customers with specific requirements, we offer bespoke solutions and various materials from our approved suppliers,” said Dainius Koveckis, head of production.
