Lödige Industries secures Changi Airport cargo maintenance extension with dnata
German-based logistics systems supplier, Lödige Industries, has announced it has taken over the maintenance of various cargo handling systems for dnata at Singapore Changi Airport.
The maintenance scope includes updating the first material handling system that Lödige Industries installed in Asia in 1979, as well as the Automatic Cargo Handling System (ACHS), Pallet Cargo Handling System (PCHS) and the mechanical systems at the Cool Chain and the perishables terminal.
Sam Gould, head of cargo at dnata Singapore, said: “With this critical service, we will ensure that our cargo handling systems are ready for long-term operation, enabling us to handle growing cargo volumes and maintain the high-quality standards required by our customers.”
Lödige Industries’ previous projects for dnata in Singapore include the equipping of its perishable centre, implementing an elevating transfer vehicle (ETV) system and the provision of equipment including A&A and E&M works prior to underpinning.
Ranga Jayaweera, general manager for Lödige Industries Singapore, said: “Maintaining a fundamentally functioning system of good quality and adapting it to new challenges through upgrades can be the most effective solution in this case. We are very pleased to support dnata once again.”
Gould added: “This partnership, which has grown over decades, is exceptional and fills us with both pride and ambition to uphold our high quality with every new project and to continue our collaboration in the long term.”
