Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Brasil have announced a long-term commercial agreement for A320 component repair services, subject to regulatory approvals, as the two carriers look to strengthen their maintenance, repair and overhaul collaboration.
The initial scope centres on A320 component repair, with both companies positioning the deal as a first step towards addressing rising global demand for narrowbody maintenance support.
The agreement builds on the airlines’ existing joint venture relationship and extends a technical partnership that already includes reciprocal maintenance support. Delta TechOps currently supports the LATAM group fleet through advanced repair work at its Atlanta facilities, including engine MRO for Airbus A320neo and Boeing 787 aircraft. Meanwhile, LATAM provides component maintenance support to Delta from its São Carlos MRO facility in Brazil.
By combining Delta TechOps’ scale and repair capabilities in Atlanta with LATAM Airlines Brasil’s component expertise in São Carlos, the partners said they aim to create a broader and more efficient repair offering for A320 operators worldwide.
Jerome Cadier, chief executive of LATAM Airlines Brasil, said: “This agreement with Delta marks an important step in strengthening LATAM Airlines Brasil’s maintenance capabilities and expanding the role of our São Carlos facility, the LATAM MRO, as an important MRO centre in Latin America. It reinforces our ambition to establish the region as a strategic hub for aviation maintenance, engineering expertise, and innovation.”
Alain Bellemare, president – international, Delta Air Lines and chairman of Delta TechOps, said: “Expanding our commercial relationship with LATAM’s Brazilian affiliate allows us to leverage our complementary strengths and broaden the maintenance solutions available for global customers. With fleet growth accelerating across our industry, TechOps is committed to meeting customer demand for high quality component repair customer demand responsibly, including leveraging partnerships that uphold our rigorous standards while delivering long term value for Delta and our customers.”
The companies said the planned long-term agreement is intended to unlock strategic value for both organisations while reinforcing their shared focus on operational excellence and maintenance standards.
The news was announced during the MRO Americas 2026 event in Orlando.
