OneReg appoints New Zealand Airports Association boss to new policy role

Aviation compliance and regulatory assurance platform OneReg is focussing on accelerating its international expansion with the appointment of a new regulation and public policy chief.

Billie Moore, currently chief executive of the New Zealand Airports Association, will take up the newly created chief regulatory and industry engagement officer role focused on government affairs.

The appointment follows OneReg’s oversubscribed $4.5 million Series A round, as the company accelerates its international expansion and deepens collaboration with regulators and public sector partners.

As chief executive of the New Zealand Airports Association, Moore has represented the operators of 49 airports nationwide and works closely with government, regulators and industry leaders to support a safe, sustainable and resilient aviation network.

A former diplomat, she served as a foreign affairs, trade and political adviser to four New Zealand Ministers, as New Zealand’s consul general to New South Wales and Queensland, and as chief advisor at the Ministry for the Environment.  She also led government relations for Tourism New Zealand.

Clinton Cardozo, chief executive and co founder of OneReg, said: “Billie is one of the most respected voices in aviation and public policy in Asia Pacific.

“Her appointment strengthens our work with regulators as we scale internationally and build on the momentum from our recent capital raise.

“Billie’s experience at the intersection of government, regulation and industry will help accelerate the shift toward real time, risk-based oversight and ensure we keep delivering technology that supports the entire aviation sector.”

Moore said the decision to join OneReg reflects where she believes she can have the greatest impact on the future of aviation.

“I have spent many years navigating government policy and working to support a thriving aviation sector.”

“What drew me to OneReg is the chance to make a more direct impact; the platform is driving momentum in regulation tech in a way the sector has talked about for years.

“The team is deeply dedicated and the product fits squarely into the pressure points facing airports, airlines and regulators.  This role gives me the scope to focus on the issues that matter most and to help build a stronger, more connected aviation ecosystem.”

Moore will start her new role in August. Based in New Zealand, she will spend significant time on the ground with regulators and industry partners across each of OneReg’s markets.
