Etihad Airways has released a short video to showcase its role in the success of UFC, Abu Dhabi’s first major sporting event since the outbreak of Covid-19.
According to the airline, Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) first appearance at Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi was watched by millions of viewers and captured the attention of UFC fans from all corners of the world.
In early July, Etihad flew in hundreds of UFC athletes and staff, including UFC President Dana White, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and fellow stars Amanda Ribas, Jéssica Andrade, José Aldo, Paige VanZant, Rose Namajunas and Max Holloway jetting into the UAE capital from Las Vegas and Sao Paolo.
As part of its transportation, the airlines used its new wellness ambassadors, making sure passengers travelling during the pandemic stay safe and happy.
Passengers in need of more information and advice regarding health and safety measures are able to contact the specially trained, multi-lingual team 24/7 via email, or through a web-chat option.
The ambassadors were introduced at Abu Dhabi International Airport over the previous weeks to ensure the same levels of care and support are provided at every point of the customer journey through the airport, from check-in to security, immigration, the retail areas, lounges and boarding.
Etihad has also introduced them onboard flights to and from the UAE to keep passengers happy.
According to the airline, all of the wellness ambassadors have undergo special training at the airline’s training facilities in Abu Dhabi, and online.
The airline has also launched an online guide, which will highlight the high standards of cleanliness, health and hygiene being applied at every stage of the customer journey.
This includes culinary hygiene at the airline’s catering facilities and food testing laboratory, aircraft cabin deep-cleaning, check-in, health screening, boarding, inflight experience and product, crew interaction, arrival, and ground transportation.
