Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates’ newest national airline, has announced three new routes connecting the UAE capital to Belgrade, Sohag and Luxor.

The new destinations are said to offer something for everyone – from beautiful landmarks and delicious cuisine to magnificent ancient ruins and rich history for those who have the appetite for dynamic experiences, exploring new places and culture.

Tickets are on sale on the website and via the airline’s mobile app, which is also available in Arabic, with fares starting at AED129 ($35).

The new routes are as follows:

  • From 19 May: Belgrade, Serbia (Wednesday and Sunday; increasing to four times a week, with the addition of Tuesday and Saturday, from 15 June)
  • From 29 May: Sohag, Egypt (Wednesday and Saturday)
  • From 4 June: Luxor, Egypt (Monday and Friday; increasing to four times a week, with the addition of Tuesday and Saturday, from 15 June)

Commenting on the news, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi MD Kees Van Schaick said: “Today’s announcement underpins our long-term commitment to providing low fares and high quality on-board experiences to our customers.

“The new connection between the capital of the United Arab Emirates and these three new cities within Europe and the Middle East will continue to stimulate air traffic demand and support the growth of Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector and economic agenda. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our new, green and ultra-efficient fleet.”

To travel worry-free in these uncertain times, Wizz Air encourages passengers to book using Wizz Flex. By choosing this service, passengers can rest assured that if circumstances change, or they simply wish to travel on a different date, or to a different destination, they can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure. No additional charges will be incurred and 100 per cent of the original fare will be immediately reimbursed in airline credit; dates and routes can be changed an unlimited number of times.

In mid-March, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi announced the launch of its latest routes to Almaty and Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan, starting in mid-May. With the launch of Almaty and Nur Sultan, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi adds a further two routes to the 13 already on sale.
