Eastern Airways cancels all flights as administration looms
Humberside-based airline Eastern Airways (UK) Ltd has filed a formal notice of its intention to appoint administrators and has cancelled all flights with immediate effect. The regional carrier, which serves both UK domestic routes and charter contracts (notably for the oil & gas sector), reported a net loss of £19.7m an increase of £4.8 million on the prior year. The filing triggers a 10-day moratorium during which Eastern Airways must present a viable solvency plan; failing that, it risks collapsing into full administration.

The UK’s Civil Aviation Authority has advised passengers not to travel to the airport as no Eastern Airways flights will be operating.
Meanwhile, its fleet stands at 16 aircraft, eight leased and eight owned with an average age of around 20.1 years. Data analyst service IBA Insight shows 12 aircraft as ‘parked’ and four as ‘stored’. None are flying at the time of writing.
The airline, which had operated a mixed fleet including ATR 72-600s, BAe Jetstream 41s, and Embraer E170/E190 jets, ceased all flights and ticket sales as of October 27, 2025. The Independent has reported that some of the aircraft have already been returned to lessors.
