Ronnie Matheson joins the Loganair Executive Team as Chief Commercial Officer with effect from Monday 24th November.

Matheson’s career began in Glasgow with British Airways in 1998, experience which spans 25 years and includes senior roles at leading aviation brands, including easyJet, Flybe, and most recently Blue Islands.

Blue Islands collapsed last week as the Jersey government called in a debt the airline had been unable to repay. Liquidators Ernst and Young confirmed that around 100 staff were redundant.

Luke Farajallah, CEO at Loganair, said: “Ronnie, who was the Chief Revenue Officer at Blue Islands, has become available sooner than anticipated, which is a positive from the situation in Jersey and one we intend taking full advantage of. To ensure a seamless transition, Ronnie will work closely with Luke Lovegrove over the coming weeks, supporting continuity and growth across our commercial function and wider business”.

“Ronnie’s experience and knowledge of the Channel Islands is unsurpassed, an area he will focus on in his early weeks with the business. I am delighted to welcome Ronnie to the Loganair executive team and have no doubt his contributions will be positive as we continue to strengthen Loganair’s resilient performance.”

Loganair’s existing CCO, Luke Lovegrove will step down in 2026, following a long-planned transition as he prepares to pursue new opportunities outside Scotland. He will work with Matherson during the handover period.
