Loganair to sponsor the International Island Games
UK regional Loganair is to sponsor the International Island Games, to be held in Orkney next year.
Orkney will host the 20th International Island Games in its landmark 40th year since it first began, joining other host alumni including Bermuda, Gotland, Gibraltar and Guernsey. The Games, taking place from 12th-18th July 2025, will bring together athletes from 24 island groups to compete in 12 sports namely archery, athletics, badminton, cycling, football, golf, gymnastics, lawn bowls, sailing, squash, swimming and triathlon.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said: “It’s fantastic for Orkney to host such a landmark event for Island communities across the globe and we’re proud to partner with the organisers to play a key role in enabling the games. Participants are expected to land in the UK from across the globe and Loganair has a wide range of options to facilitate onward connections to Orkney. The airline offers seven direct routes to Kirkwall Airport, including from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Sumburgh, and London Heathrow.
