Norse Atlantic receives air operator’s certificate

The Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority has issued an air operator’s certificate (AOC) to Norse Atlantic Airways.

Following the AOC approval, the new airline will start commercial operation in spring this year, with its first flights departing from Oslo to selected cities in the US.

“We would like to thank Norway’s Civil Aviation Authority for a constructive and professional process. We are now one important step closer to launching our attractive and affordable flights between Europe and the U.S. in spring next year,” said Norse’s CEO and founder Bjørn Tore Larsen.

Lars E. de Lange Kobberstad Civil Aviation Authorities of Norway’s director general added: “We’ve had a good and constructive dialogue with Norse throughout the process of issuing a Norwegian AOC. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to a continued fruitful relationship going forward.”

Norse Atlantic Airways is a new airline that will offer affordable fares on long-haul flights, primarily between Europe and the United States. The company was founded by CEO and major shareholder Bjørn Tore Larsen in March 2021.
