Moranbah, located in Queensland’s Isaac Region, is recognised as one of the key centres of the Bowen Basin. While best known for its contribution to Australia’s coal industry, the town is also home to a strong and resilient community. The introduction of these community flights reflects a shared commitment by SmartLynx Australia and Whitehaven Coal to improve accessibility and provide affordable travel options for local residents.

SmartLynx Australia was previously known as Skytrans, but rebranded to keep a common identity with EU-based SmartLynx Airlines and Thailand-based Thai SmartLynx, all of which are both parts of Avia Solutions Group.
