Wizz Air announces new route from Birmingham to Lancarna

Wizz Air low cost airline lancarna

Wizz Air has announced a new low-fare holiday route from Birmingham Airport to Larnaca in Cyprus.

It is launching in May 2021 to coincide with the anticipated restart of international travel.

From 17 May 2021, Wizz Air will offer flights twice weekly to Larnaca, a “vibrant seaside city” situated on the southernmost coast of Cyprus.

This new route means that Wizz now offers 11 low-fare routes from Birmingham Airport, connecting the West Midlands hub.

Following the launch of three new bases and 60 new routes in the UK over the past twelve months, as well as the delivery of three brand new A321neo aircraft, the airline says that today’s announcement further signifies Wizz Air’s commitment to the UK market. The airline now offers over 140 routes from 11 UK Airports.

Wizz UK’s managing director of Wizz Air UK, Owain Jones, said: “We are delighted to announce the addition of yet another destination to our network from Birmingham Airport, providing our customers in the West Midlands with more low-fare connections for their post lockdown getaway.

“As Cyprus confirms it will welcome vaccinated British tourists from May, now is the perfect time to book a trip to experience the island’s beautiful beaches, warm weather, and welcoming hospitality. We continue to prepare for the easing of restrictions and the Wizz team looks forward to welcoming everyone back to experience great service onboard our ultra-modern, young, and green aircraft fleet. Wizz is ready and waiting to take customers away on their long-awaited summer break.”
