The Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) and the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) have agreed to work together to promote environmental responsibility and the circular economy.
The partnership will focus on developing and promoting safe and sustainable management of aircraft components and fostering circular economy principles, AFRA and IAEG said.
The organisations will work with industry stakeholders to assess the regulatory landscape and improve voluntary practices for the removal, treatment, and reuse of parts and materials from end-of-life aircraft.
AFRA and IAEG plan to establish guidance for circularity metrics and reporting standards to encourage the adoption of circular practices throughout the aerospace sector.
This initiative aims to reduce waste, promote material reuse, and extend the lifecycle of aerospace products.
“This partnership underscores our shared commitment to responsible and sustainable practices, as well as our dedication to driving positive change across the entire aerospace value chain,” AFRA stated.
