AvAir is to acquire Sabena technics’ surplus inventory, including both consumables and expendables in new condition.

The agreement between the parts supplier and MRO covers both airframe and component surplus materials used for heavy maintenance on various Airbus family, ATR and C130 aircrafts. These will be made available to AvAir customers globally.

Reflecting on the agreement, AvAir noted the need for many aircraft to undergo maintenance checks to go back into service after being parked due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

For its part, Sabena technics said the sale of the surplus materials was intended to optimise its inventory. “It allows us to invest and further expand our stocks so we can better serve our customers,” explained vice president of component solutions Ludovyc Lecherbonnier. “We are very pleased with the solution AvAir has provided us and are delighted to keep strengthening our partnership of many years.”

AvAir’s CEO Mike Bianco commented: “We’re happy to continue to meet Sabena technics’ needs through our custom-fit solutions. Our strategic partnership is a win-win for our customers who will continue to receive top quality parts and service.”
