Collins Aerospace to support Japan Airlines’ 787 fleet

Collins Aerospace has entered into a long-term agreement to support Japan Airlines’ 787 fleet through its ‘Dispatch’ flight hour programme.

Dispatch is able to guarantee the availability of high-performance avionics and communications assets to customers around the globe, according to Collins.

The agreement covers support services such as global pool access, maintenance services including reliability upgrades, access to Collins Aerospace’s worldwide 787 asset pools, and technical assistance.

The two companies have an existing relationship, as Collins currently provides service to the airline’s A350 fleet through a Dispatch contract.

Collins Aerospace’s vice president and general manager, avionics service and support Lisa Steffen commented: “We have a longstanding relationship with Japan Airlines and we see this new agreement as a show of confidence in our programme and the services Collins provides.

“With thousands of aircraft covered globally, Dispatch is a proven, cost-effective solution to help airlines like Japan Airlines keep their fleet flying at peak performance.”
