ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia has officially opened its new purpose-built MRO facility at Subang Airport near downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The new hangar will be able to cover aircraft types from Dassault Aviation, Bombardier, and Gulfstream, offering customers the full suite of MRO services from line maintenance and AOG support through to heavy maintenance checks, cabin interior refurbishments, satcom installations, avionics upgrades and other advanced modifications.

Ivan Lim, regional vice president Asia at ExecuJet MRO Services (a wholly owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation), said: “The benefit of having a purpose-built MRO facility is it can include new features to support MRO activity – for example, a built-in overhead-crane for aircraft engine changes – and it can be future-proofed.

“We also designed the hangar and workshops to optimise the workflow through the facility. The 105,000 sqft hangar can accommodate up to 15 medium and large business jets simultaneously, including the ultra-large-cabin Dassault Falcon 6X and Falcon 10X.”

The MRO service provider’s previous facility at Subang Airport was smaller and originally designed for aircraft undercover parking.

The new 149,500 sqft MRO centre is the largest business aviation maintenance facility at Subang Airport and also includes workshops, storage space, offices for staff and customers, training rooms and rest areas.

Lim added: “The business aviation industry in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, has witnessed strong growth, driving demand for MRO services. The larger, purpose-built facility at Subang Airport allows us to cater to the growth in the business aviation market and enables us to expand our MRO capabilities.”

The new hangar has been built with energy-saving design elements including large windows, LED lighting, high-volume low-speed overhead fans for cooling, an 85kW rooftop solar system, and water tanks for harvesting rainwater.

Jean Kayanakis, senior vice president for worldwide customer service at Dassault Aviation, said: “Over the last half decade, we have more than doubled our global support capacity and considerably modernised our MRO capability.

“We now have more than 60 service locations and 15 parts distribution centers around the world, along with the GoTeams necessary to support aircraft in the field 24/7 wherever they may be.

“This is part of a strategy aimed at keeping us as close as possible to our customers and offering all the services needed to maximise the up-time and value of their Falcon fleets.”

ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia is certified by Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the US FAA, the Civil Aviation Administration of China and other national civil aviation regulators around the world.

In a separate development, EASA and the US FAA have certified ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia to perform line maintenance and provide AOG support for Falcon 6X aircraft throughout the region.
