US MRO specialist Farsound has appointed a new US president who will be based at the firm’s new facility in San Antonio, Texas.
Matt Berkebile brings a wealth of engineering and leadership experience to Farsiund, in a 17-year career in gas turbine, aviation and power generation engineering in the US.
He has worked across a range of disciplines, including design, manufacture, repair, process development and commercial projects.
In his new role, Berkebile will oversee Farsound’s operations and growth in North America, developing the company’s reputation and market reach in a lucrative MRO sector.
Farsound also has facilities in the UK, Canada, Spain, Japan and Singapore and Berkebile will work closely with the firm’s leadership teams there to ensure a global approach.
The firm provides bespoke supply chain solutions, logistics services and aero engine parts, as well as ad hoc and scheduled MRO delivery services to the international aviation industry.
Berkebile said: “I am delighted to be joining Farsound at such an exciting time for the company.
“The opening of our brand-new facility in San Antonio later on this year will provide an excellent base from which to expand our customer base in the US and beyond.
“I am looking forward to leading a great team of people towards ongoing development and international success.”
Kevin Sargent, executive chairman of Farsound, added: “Farsound is in a stage of rapid, dynamic development and we are thrilled that Matt has agreed to take on the role of President Farsound USA and lead our presence in North America.
“We will benefit hugely from his wide-ranging industry experience and insight, and we look forward to working with him for a long time to come.”
