GE Evergreen Engine Services (GEEVES) is to open a new component repair site at Guanyin Industrial Park in Taiwan.
A joint venture between Evergreen Aviation Technology Corp (EGAT) and GE Aviation, the new site will allow more capacity to grow overhaul and repair operations to support customers, the companies said.
“The new three-floor facility is more than 13,000sq m, enabling us to increase our in-house repair capabilities and capacity for world-class engines like the GEnx and CF6,” said GEEVES’ general manager Joe Tai. “The move also allows us to cater third-party component repair business needs.”
Due to capacity constraints, GEEVES has been sending some engine components to locations outside of Taiwan for repair. Expanding the repair work, GEEVES said, will reduce shipping costs and improve turnaround time for engine overhauls and parts repair.
“This expansion with a new component repair site has been many years in the making, and a lot of hard work has been involved by GE Aviation, EGAT and GEEVES to get us here,” added Tai. “Working together in this way has been a win-win for both companies and we are focused on continuing to provide outstanding service for our customers.”
