AerFin expands CFM engine MRO capabilities

Aircraft and engine aftermarket solutions provider AerFin has announced an enhancement in its Part 145 EASA, CAA and FAA certification for its Engine MRO Lite maintenance services.

Aircraft and engine aftermarket solutions provider AerFin has announced an enhancement in its Part 145 EASA, CAA and FAA certification for its Engine MRO Lite maintenance services.

The enhanced capabilities will cover CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines and now include changes for the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) module, No.4 and No.5 bearings, and expanded coverage of fan, booster, and top case activities.

AerFin says that the enhanced capabilities further complement its current range of Engine MRO Lite services that include engine disassembly and quick-turn maintenance services.

Simon Bayliss, chief operating officer at AerFin, said: “This capability enhancement represents a significant milestone in the development of our MRO services to support the capacity challenges that many of our major customers are currently facing.

“This significant development enables us to deliver a more sophisticated range of services to our customers when they need it.”

AerFin has also announced that later in 2024 it will increase its Engine MRO Lite capacity to up to 200 quick-turn shop visits per year and its UK storage capacity by a third when it moves to its new headquarters at St Modwen’s Park, Newport.
