South Korean airline Fly Gangwon has contracted AFI KLM E&M to provide full engine support for the CFM56-7B units powering its three Boeing 737-800s.
The agreement also covers any CFM56-7Bs added to the fleet while the contract remains active.
The MRO solutions to be provided are wide-ranging, from carrying out shop visits to the delivery of on-wing/on-site operations, as well as availability-oriented services such as the provision of temporary replacement engines.
“AFI KLM E&M is delighted that Fly Gangwon, a young and dynamic airline, has chosen to place its trust in us,” said AFI KLM E&M’s SVP commercial Pierre Teboul. “This agreement is a testament to our teams’ ability to provide comprehensive solutions adapted to the needs of aviation start-ups in every global region.”
Heung Ki Kim, managing director of the maintenance department of Fly Gangwon, commented: “With its experience, technical know-how and dual profile as an airline MRO, AFI KLM E&M constitutes a benchmark partner in the field of aeronautical maintenance for our airline. We know that we can count on their solutions to be expert, reliable, and adapted to our technical and operational goals, providing efficient support for our ongoing development.”
