Air Astana Group has reached a new milestone, performing 6-year and 12-year C-Checks simultaneously on Airbus A320 family aircraft for the first time.

Both projects are being undertaken at the group’s engineering centre in Astana.

The work, among the most demanding in the airline’s maintenance schedule, is being carried out on an Air Astana A321neo and a FlyArystan A320ceo.

Since establishing its in-house heavy maintenance capability in 2019, Air Astana has completed 42 C-Checks at its Almaty and Astana facilities – including its first 6-year event in 2023 and first 12-year inspection in 2024.

Air Astana says its latest dual programme further strengthens its technical expertise and underlines the maturity of its MRO operations in Kazakhstan.
