Riyadh Air has signed a 10-year partnership with Lufthansa Technik covering Total Component Support (TCS) for its growing Boeing 787-9 fleet, marking a major step in establishing its maintenance and operational capabilities as it launches commercial services.

The agreement gives the Saudi start-up round-the-clock access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool, enabling the airline to enhance component availability for its Dreamliners and reduce costs compared with traditional in-house provisioning.

TCS support began in October with the entry into service of Riyadh Air’s first 787.

Under the deal, Lufthansa Technik will provide general component MRO services via an open-loop exchange set-up, plus dedicated AOG support and time-critical logistics to safeguard operational continuity.

The airline is also deepening its digital foundations by adopting AMOS as its maintenance and engineering platform, becoming part of Lufthansa Technik’s expanding Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem.

AMOS will manage all aspects of Riyadh Air’s maintenance, engineering, logistics and compliance on a single platform, with integrated decision-support tools to streamline workflows across the MRO chain.

The signing took place at the 2025 Dubai Airshow between Adam Boukadida, Riyadh Air’s chief financial officer, and Dr Christian Leifeld, chief financial officer at Lufthansa Technik and responsible for Digital Fleet Services.

Boukadida said: “Ensuring we have a strong partner in place like Lufthansa Technik for the provisioning of spare parts is critical to our operational performance. As a start up airline, to minimise the impact of any technical issues, we need immediate access to a broad pool of aircraft components across the globe that are available 24/7 and ready for installation.”

Leifeld added: “We are delighted to accompany Riyadh Air on its impressive growth course, for which operational stability will be key. And that is exactly why we see ourselves as a strong partner, from the recent start via the upcoming ramp-up of its operations all the way on to Riyadh Air’s goal of connecting 100 global destinations by 2030.

“Riyadh Air’s modern and digitally-driven mindset moreover corresponds well with our goal of digitally transforming the entire MRO ecosystem, hence we are eagerly looking forward to fill this wonderful new partnership with life.”
