FIA 2024: TUI Airline and GE Aerospace sign new engine MRO service agreements
GE Aerospace has announced an extension to its current services agreement with TUI Airline, as well as a new TrueChoice™ Service agreement that covers the MRO of the airline’s GEnx engine-powered Boeing 787 commercial fleet.
Russell Stokes, president and chief executive of commercial engines and services at GE Aerospace, said: “GE Aerospace is honoured to continue our partnership with TUI to keep their GEnx fleet operating safely and reliably.
“This is a testament to the journey that started in 2005 between GE Aerospace and TUI Airline, as the GEnx launch customer. It’s a privilege to continue delivering exceptional services and customer support.”
Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, the services extension comes in preparation of the transition to the new TrueChoice engine maintenance offerings for TUI’s GEnx fleet.
The TrueChoice™ Service agreement provides service coverage for the coming period, during which GE Aerospace will continue to support TUI operations with maintenance support, data analytics capabilities and experience to help reduce maintenance burden and service disruptions.
Marco Ciomperlik, chief airline officer at TUI Group, said: “GE Aerospace’s partnership on the operations of TUI’s 787 is key to reinforce our long-haul holiday network.
“This ONPOINT agreement extension and the new TrueChoice™ Service agreement provides the services coverage required for our engines in line with TUI’s fleet plan.”
TUI Airline and GE Aerospace also have a TrueChoice™ Service agreement for CFM56-7B engines, and TUI currently operates Boeing 737-8 with CFM LEAP engines.
