Aircraft painting and coating services company International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) is partnering with design-build contractor ARCO National Construction (ARCO) to renovate two aircraft hangars at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport.
The project covers two adjacent hangars totalling 46,000 sqft, with each 23,000 sqft facility being upgraded to support advanced coating operations.
The first aircraft induction is scheduled for September 2026.
The renovation programme is focused on enhancing environmental control, lighting and mechanical systems to meet the stringent requirements of aerospace coating applications and MRO environments.
Key upgrades include the installation of a high-performance HVAC system designed to deliver five air changes per hour, alongside new exhaust fans and make-up air units to ensure effective airflow, contaminant control and compliance with industry standards.
The hangars will also be equipped with explosion-proof LED lighting systems capable of delivering 93 foot-candles at the work surface, improving visibility while meeting hazardous location requirements.
Additional works include the removal of legacy infrared heating and lighting systems, the installation of a galvanised rooftop steel platform to support new mechanical equipment, and the addition of interior structural steel framing to accommodate updated HVAC ducting and distribution systems.
Parker Snyder, director of business development at ARCO, said: “Our team understands the critical importance of environmental control, safety, and system performance in aircraft coating facilities, and we are committed to delivering a solution that supports IAC’s operational excellence.”
