Jet Aviation expands maintenance capabilities in Dubai and Switzerland

Jet Aviation has expanded its maintenance capabilities in both the Middle East and Europe.

The company’s Basel, Switzerland facility is now approved for heavy maintenance on the Boeing 777 up to and including 15-year checks. The work scope extension required the company to invest in additional specialised tools and training for the 777, and was approved in late 2022.

Jet Aviation Basel holds maintenance approval for more than 50 aircraft types.

“This extension of our work scope for the Boeing 777 in Basel is a fantastic achievement and cements our position as one of the leading global maintenance providers for widebody and narrowbody business aircraft,” said Jet Aviation’s VP MRO Europe and GM Basel Cyril Martiniere.

“The application was in response to increasing market demand for these capabilities in Basel and demonstrates our commitment to investing in our growth in line with the needs of our customer. The Boeing 777 is an important platform and we are delighted to be able to offer heavy maintenance on this aircraft to our customers across the region and beyond. I look forward to welcoming more 777s to Basel in the future.”

In the Middle East, and in response to customer demand, Jet Aviation has expanded maintenance, interior refurbishment, NDT, and borescope capabilities at its Dubai DXB facility. The company has also expanded line maintenance and on-site support services in the region.

Modular tail docking capability was added to the base maintenance hangar to allow more efficient heavy structural repairs on large cabin aircraft, while refurbishment capability, including full-cabin refurbishment, was extended with the addition of avionic modifications and upgrades, such as high-speed internet.

“We are committed to providing an effortless experience for all of our customers,” said Jet Aviation’s VP regional operations Middle East & GM Dubai Hardy Bütschi. “Part of this is growing and developing our capabilities and expertise to meet the evolving requirements of customers in and visiting the region.

“Over the past year we have seen more requests for larger cabin refurbishment, structural repair projects, avionic modifications, and upgrades at our fixed-wing maintenance site in Dubai and have adapted and expanded our capabilities to match. I am extremely proud of the team for this continued commitment to going above and beyond for our customers across all of our maintenance services, whether base maintenance or heavy refurbishment, an AOG in a remote location, or even customized on-site fleet support.”
