Lufthansa Technik and Azerbaijan Airlines sign 787 component support contract

Lufthansa Technik is to provide component support services for Azerbaijan Airlines’ Boeing 787 Dreamliners under a five-year contract.

The Total Component Support (TCS) contract comes into effect on 1 May, giving the airline 24/7 access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool network.

Among other services, the TCS includes an AOG support that guarantees Azerbaijan Airlines the shortest possible delivery for time-critical components. In what Lufthansa Technik called an important strategic step for the provision of maintenance and technical services, the contract “has been tailored to include additional flexibility, so that it can easily cover the carrier’s planned fleet expansion”.

Azerbaijan Airlines’ first vice president Samir Rzayev commented: “Ensuring flight safety is Azerbaijan Airlines’ highest priority. The signing of an agreement with the leading component provider Lufthansa Technik is another example of this.”

Lufthansa Technik’s vice president sales Central Europe & CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Andreas van de Kuil said: “We are honoured to support Azerbaijan Airlines on its growth path through our proven component support, and we are especially honoured to service their flagship aircraft. With this contract, we live up to our outstanding reputation as a reliable partner in the global MRO industry and further expand our market share in the CIS.”
