Lufthansa Technik expands executive board with CFO and CHRO appointments
Effective 1 May 2025, Lufthansa Technik will expand its executive board from three to four members, appointing Dr. Christian Leifeld as chief financial officer and Dr. Janna Schumacher as chief human resources officer.
Leifeld, currently head of group controlling at Lufthansa, will oversee finance, purchasing, infrastructure, and digital fleet services. He succeeds William Willms, who departed in March.
Schumacher, previously general counsel at Lufthansa Technik, will lead the newly created HR and legal department and serve as labour director.
Both appointments are for an initial three-year term.
Chairwoman of the supervisory board of Lufthansa Technik, Grazia Vittadini, said: “We are delighted to welcome Christian Leifeld and Janna Schumacher, two exceptional leaders whose proven expertise will be invaluable as we continue pursuing our ambitious vision. Christian’s outstanding financial acumen and global management experience, gathered within and beyond the Lufthansa Group, make him an ideal addition. Janna’s deep understanding of HR law and her impressive track record both internally and externally bring a crucial perspective to our team.
“Together with the current members of the executive board, Soeren Stark and Harald Gloy, I am confident this powerful management team will inject significant momentum into our strategic goals. I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter with all of them.”
