MRO Americas: AerFin launches V2500 engine support capability

Aircraft and engine aftermarket solutions provider AerFin has launched V2500 engine support, expanding its engine MRO offering as demand for narrowbody maintenance intensifies.

The company is now approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to carry out light maintenance on the platform, enabling it to deliver compliant inspection and support services globally.

The capability is based at AerFin’s Indurent Park facility, which provides dedicated shop capacity for V2500 inspections and light maintenance. The site – a 116,000 sq. ft. headquarters with 26 engine bays – can support up to 200 quick-turn shop visits annually, reducing reliance on constrained third-party capacity.

AerFin will support operators and lessors with end-of-lease inspections, pre-buy checks, C checks, storage and preservation services, as well as borescope inspections, LRU replacements and full visual inspections. The aim is to improve asset visibility, protect value and maintain operational readiness.

The V2500 remains a core engine across the Airbus A320 family, with more units now entering heavier maintenance cycles, increasing pressure on operators to balance cost, availability and turnaround times.

Simon Bayliss, chief operating officer at AerFin, said: “Securing V2500 accreditation is an important step for AerFin and for our customers. This is a platform that continues to underpin global narrowbody operations, and the need for reliable, timely support has never been greater.

“We’re focused on delivering exactly that – practical capability that helps operators make informed decisions, maintain availability and protect asset value. This is about giving our customers confidence in a demanding environment.”

Asim Chalise, vice president of MRO sales at AerFin, said: “What matters here is access to the right insight at the right time. With V2500 engines moving into heavier checks, understanding condition early and acting quickly can make a real difference.

“Our capability allows us to assess, advise and intervene where needed – whether that’s through inspection, targeted replacements or ongoing maintenance support. It’s about helping customers stay ahead of issues and keep their fleets moving.”

The addition builds on AerFin’s existing MRO Lite support for CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines, creating a broader maintenance offering across A320 and B737 fleets, with further approvals already in progress.

The news was announced at the MRO Americas 2026 event in Orlando.
