MRO Americas: ITP Aero expands global MRO reach via BP Aero investment

Spanish aerospace components supplier ITP Aero is expanding the component repair footprint of its BP Aero MRO business in Texas as it looks to meet rising customer demand, improve turnaround times and support a wider range of engine programmes.

The new 120,000 sq ft facility, located close to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and a few miles from BP Aero’s current site, will more than double the company’s existing component repair capacity once fully operational by the end of 2026.

The site will enable more advanced repair work across BP Aero’s current portfolio of CFM, CF6, CF34 and GE90 engine components, while also adding new capabilities for the LEAP, GTF and GEnx platforms.

ITP Aero said the expansion is expected to create an additional 100 jobs over the next two years, supporting its longer-term industrial growth plans in the US.

Alan Jones, executive vice president of MRO at ITP Aero, said: “This expansion strengthens ITP Aero’s position in the US aftermarket and reflects the direction of our MRO growth strategy. By increasing capacity in component repair we are reinforcing our ability to support customers today while preparing for the requirements of newer platforms.”

ITP Aero acquired BP Aero in February 2024, marking its first MRO acquisition and first operational presence in the United States. The Texas expansion represents a further step in its strategy to grow its global aftermarket business through targeted investment, broader repair capability and a stronger international MRO network.

The move also aligns with ITP Aero’s wider push to expand industrial capacity and strengthen its MRO offering in key markets.

The news was announced during the MRO Americas 2026 event in Orlando.
