MRO Middle East: flyadeal extends aircraft inspection partnership with Lufthansa Technik
Saudi Arabian low cost carrier flyadeal has renewed its Aircraft Production Inspection Program (APIP) cooperation with Lufthansa Technik, signing an exclusive five-year agreement that significantly expands the scope of the partnership.
Under the renewed contract, APIP will now cover flyadeal’s incoming fleet of 51 Airbus A320 aircraft and 10 Airbus A330neo, with options for a further 10 widebodies.
Deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2027. The agreement represents a substantial expansion of the original APIP partnership, which was first launched in 2021.
APIP is a modular inspection programme designed to monitor and assess the aircraft production process end-to-end, from the initial inspection of sub-assemblies through to final assembly and aircraft acceptance. The programme aims to ensure production quality, conformity and transparency throughout the manufacturing phase.
As part of the Saudia Group, flyadeal has been working with Lufthansa Technik since the airline’s launch, with support spanning aircraft engineering services, multiple base maintenance events for its A320 family fleet, and the deployment of several digital tech ops ecosystem solutions.
The renewed APIP agreement further deepens that long-standing relationship as the carrier prepares for its next phase of fleet and network growth.
Steven Greenway, flyadeal chief executive said: “Lufthansa Technik has supported flyadeal from the very beginning of our operations, and their expertise has been instrumental to our continued growth. Across all areas of our collaboration, they have delivered solid standards of quality and reliability.
“As we continue to scale up our fleet, we are pleased to extend this long-standing partnership working with Lufthansa Technik as a trusted partner supporting flyadeal’s ongoing expansion.”
Kai Roepke, Lufthansa Technik’s corporate sales Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with flyadeal, a relationship that has been built on trust and mutual success since 2017.
“Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector holds exceptional potential, and the new agreement highlights our commitment to supporting the country’s dynamic aviation sector. We are proud to continue supporting flyadeal’s ambitious growth in the years to come.”
The partnership was announced during the Aviation Week MRO Middle East 2026 event in Dubai.
