National Airlines and Lufthansa Technik expand engine maintenance contract
Lufthansa Technik and National Airlines have signed an agreement to expand their cooperation in the field of Engine Maintenance Services (EMS).
The contract includes the overhaul of 11 CF6-80 engines over the next five years for the airline’s Boeing 747 fleet, and for services such as Cyclean engine wash, Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support and consumables and expendables support.
Lufthansa Technik has been carrying out on-wing Cyclean engine wash procedures on the Orlando based cargo operator’s aircraft at several airports since April 2023.
In addition to the AOG support in Europe, Asia and North America, Lufthansa Technik also supplies National Airlines with consumables and expendables support.
For this, so-called engine change kits with hundreds of selected parts are put together and delivered as an individual whole package.
Now Lufthansa Technik will start the EMS support as part of the newly-signed agreement.
Jim Casbarro, vice president of technical operations at National Airlines, said: “National Airlines is extremely pleased to announce our expanding cooperation with Lufthansa Technik.
“Through this cooperation, National now has access to Lufthansa’s wealth of industry leading experience and knowledge to further assist in our growth and operational reliability.
“We look forward to many years of continuing partnership with Lufthansa Technik.”
Georgios Ouzounidis, vice president corporate sales Americas at Lufthansa Technik, said: “The start of our cooperation with National Airlines was only a few months ago. We are even more delighted to see this young partnership continuously growing and highly value our cooperation with National Airlines.”
