Safran to maintain electrical and ventilation systems on Emirates’ A380s
Safran Electrical & Power and Safran Ventilation Systems have signed two long-term contracts with Emirates for maintaining the electrical power generation and ventilation system equipment onboard the airline’s Airbus A380 fleet.
Safran Electrical & Power will maintain variable frequency electrical generators, auxiliary power unit (APU) electrical generators and associated control units, while Safran Ventilation Systems will maintain fans and valves of the ventilation system.
The agreements will provide Emirates with direct repair services from the OEMs to support aftermarket repair services of the airline’s A380 fleet.
The maintenance activities will be carried out at the Safran Ventilation Systems site in Blagnac and Safran Electrical & Power sites in Pitstone, Niort and Méru.
Amans Defossez, vice president of support and services at Safran Electrical & Power and Safran Ventilation Systems, said: “We are pleased to be consolidating our strategic partnership with Emirates so we can continue to support its Airbus A380 fleet.”
