SR Technics Malta secures easyJet base maintenance contract extension

SR Technics’ Malta subsidiary has been awarded a renewed base maintenance contract with easyJet.

The agreement is for an additional two years and covers two lines of base maintenance work.

SR Technics Malta has held a maintenance contract with easyJet since 2010, providing a range of MRO services. The company said that by December of this year, it will have serviced a total of 35 aircraft under the agreement and expects to handle up to a total of 45 aircraft by the completion of the contract.

While the work has been performed at SR Technics’ existing facility in Malta to date, it will soon continue at the MRO supplier’s new six-bay hangar – which is scheduled to open at Malta Airport in Safi in February 2022.

‘’We are immensely delighted and honoured to secure this contract extension with our highly valued and important customer easyJet,” said SR Technics Malta’s vice president operations Daniel Galea. “It has been an incredible journey since 2010, and we look forward to continuing delivering our services to the highest safety and quality standards.’’

EasyJet director of engineering and maintenance Brendan McConnellogue commented: “We are extremely pleased to be extending our relationship with the SR Technics team in Malta. It’s hard to believe that it has been more than 11 years since SR Technics delivered the first A319 IV check back to easyJet, and they continue to support us in ensuring the highest levels of operational safety for our fleet, all with the same dedication and enthusiasm as they did on the very first aircraft back in 2010.”
