Vietnam Aircraft Engineering Company (VAECO), a member of the Vietnam Airlines Group, has announced it has officially been granted the EASA Part-147 certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
It means that VAECO is now one of only four organisations in Southeast Asia holding both Part-145 (maintenance) and Part-147 (training) certifications.
Making the announcement on social media, Vietnam Airlines said: “This milestone marks the first time Vietnam has had a qualified organisation capable of training aircraft maintenance engineers to European standards, helping reduce training costs by up to 90%.
“This achievement strengthens workforce self-sufficiency and further reinforces the technical capabilities of Vietnam’s aviation industry.”
