Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen and CASC sign component support deal

Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen

Aviation supplies and services provider China Aviation Supplies Company Limited (CASC) and Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen have signed a long-term total component maintenance contract, extending their comprehensive component maintenance and material support concept by more than 40 Airbus A320 aircraft operated by Qingdao Airlines.

The companies say they have had in-depth discussions about future cooperation and have reviewed their previous project collaborations on Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 and A320 fleets.

China Aviation Supplies Company’s business model has developed from traditional trade agency to a comprehensive service support system covering multiple business models such as expendables consignment, pooling services of LRU parts, sharing of high value components, AOG support, warehousing, logistics and distribution.

CASC, a long-standing partner of Lufthansa Technik, will provide Qingdao Airlines, a Chinese carrier based at Qingdao Liuting International Airport, with component management while Lufthansa Technik will provide total component maintenance. This includes comprehensive closed-loop component repair and overhaul service for selected parts or the entire aircraft with the cost benefits of a per-flight-hour payment.

Providing reliability

The component support concept ensures the fleets of participating airlines remain highly reliable and helps operators avoid cash outlays for material which is especially important during the current Covid-19 crisis.

Lufthansa Technik says this latest addition of the Airbus A320 fleet results in the parties becoming the biggest component support provider on a power-by-the-hour basis in mainland China.

Since 2002, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen has been providing Chinese and Asia-Pacific airlines with maintenance, repair and overhaul services for aircraft parts, including modifications, spare unit supply and engineering support. The company is is a member of Lufthansa Technik’s worldwide network.
