EPCOR BV, the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) centre of excellence for the repair of APUs and components, has signed a 15-year contract extension with Air Canada to continue supporting the carrier’s APS5000 APU fleet.
The renewed agreement builds on a partnership that began in 2014 and will take the total relationship between the companies to 25 years.
Air Canada is one of EPCOR BVs key customers for the APS5000 platform, which supports the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The extension also reflects EPCOR’s ongoing role in supporting the carrier’s widebody growth and wider fleet modernisation efforts.
Josh Vanderveen, vice president, maintenance at Air Canada, said: “This new 15-year agreement reinforces our commitment to reliability and operational excellence across our Boeing 787 fleet, ensuring we continue to deliver world-class service to our customers.”
Heidi Haveman, managing director at EPCOR BV, said: “This contract extension is a commitment to the trust and collaboration between EPCOR, Air Canada, and AFI KLM E&M. We are honoured to support Air Canada’s fleet as they continue to set industry standards for innovation and service.”
Rob van de Graaf, commercial director at EPCOR BV, said: “Extending our APU maintenance agreement with Air Canada is the result of open, constructive discussions and a shared willingness to find a solution that works for both Air Canada and EPCOR. We’re proud to support their fleet with the proven APU reliability and technical excellence they expect from us.”
According to the companies, the extension underlines the importance of the APS5000 APU platform in supporting Air Canada’s operational performance and sustainability objectives, while reinforcing EPCOR’s long-term position on the airline’s 787 fleet.
The news was announced during the MRO Americas 2026 event in Orlando.
