Patrick Biebel has been appointed as managing director of MTU Maintenance Lease Services, the 80/20 joint venture between MTU Aero Engines and Sumitomo headquartered in Amsterdam.
He has replaced Andrea Lübke (pictured right) in the role, who will move back to MTU Aero Engines’ headquarters as senior vice president corporate development reporting to group CEO Reiner Winkler. In her new position, she will head up the strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions and innovation teams for the entire MTU group.
Biebel will be responsible for MTU’s leasing business, asset management activities and driving the company forward.
MTU Aero Engines SVP MRO programs Martin Friis-Petersen said: “We would like to thank Andrea for her excellent leadership and dedication over the past years and wish her the very best in her new role.
“We are delighted that Patrick will be managing MTU Maintenance Lease Services. We are confident he will build on the strong reputation MTU has developed in the engine leasing and trading community and continue to develop our service portfolio to anticipate and meet market and customer needs.”
Biebel joined MTU in 2012 and most recently served as vice president corporate development.
