Recovering Chinese market allows Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen to resume investments and capability build-up

Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen has resumed investments into new capabilities as the Chinese aviation market recovers.

The company is currently converting its bonded warehouse to a 2,100sq m maintenance workshop as well as climate controlled material storage. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2021.

Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen said additional capabilities would include providing component repair services for more than 70 Honeywell shipped components onboard the Airbus A350, for which the company will be the only licensed facility in Asia-Pacific.

The increase of capabilities will also include a cooperation between the company and partner TAT Technologies. Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen said it would soon be able to provide the Asia Pacific market with “the largest capability of heat transfer component repairs, overhaul and core replacement services, supporting most major platforms and components on the environmental control, bleed air and fuel inerting systems”.

The company said it also planned to build up service capabilities for components of Meggitt fire and safety systems, valves, sensors and fuel systems, serving as a Meggitt OEM centre of excellence in China.

“We are thrilled to resume investments to fill our agreements with our partners Honeywell, Meggitt and TAT, providing our customers with unique, world class quality and cost efficient solutions for legacy as well as the newest aircraft types,” said Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen president and CEO Benjamin Scheidel.
