ST Engineering has been awarded a five-year component maintenance-by-the-hour contract by Virgin Australia Airlines.
The MRO company will provide full, integrated component support to the airline’s 737NG fleet from this month. Services will include repair management, pool access and provision of consignment stock in Australia.
ST Engineering already provides airframe heavy maintenance services for Virgin Australia Airlines at its Singapore facility.
“Emerging from this challenging period for the aviation industry, we appreciate being selected by Virgin Australia Airlines to support their business activities and recovery,” said ST Engineering’s commercial aerospace president Jeffrey Lam. “Our comprehensive life cycle nose-to-tail support capabilities will be leveraged to provide Virgin Australia Airlines with the highest quality and most reliable services that our customers have come to expect from ST Engineering.”
Virgin Australia Airlines’ chief operations officer Stuart Aggs commented: “Virgin Australia Airlines is pleased to have selected ST Engineering as our strategic partner for component MRO services through a comprehensive tender process. We look forward to maximising our strategic partnership as domestic and international travel ramps up and our fleet, team and passengers return to the skies.”
