Budget carrier Ryanair has introduced a  new subscriber discount scheme.

Under the proposition, customers that pay the £79 annual fee will benefit from reserved seats included in the deal, plus travel insurance and access to a monthly ‘seat sale’, only accessible to members.

Describing the scheme as a ‘no-brainer’, Ryanair’s CMO, Dara Brady, said: “This exciting new subscriber discount scheme is limited to just 250,000 customers on a first come, first served basis”.

Ryanair is the latest airline to introduce a member benefit scheme. It’s European rival Wizz Air introduced an ‘All You Can Fly’ offer last year with annual membership costing $599 per annum. This offer sold it’s allocation of memberships quickly, although subscribers would have done well to read the small print as flights are only bookable three days in advance and will incur a $10 booking fee.

Other LCCs to offer schemes include Frontier Airlines’ ‘Go Wild!’ pass. Again, this offers unlimited travel in theory, but bookings can only be confirmed on the day of a flight.
