Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched its first intercontinental route to the Middle East, connecting Hong Kong and Dubai.

The route will offer a weekly full cargo service, operated by Airbus A330-200 widebody freighters.

The inaugural ceremony was held at Hong Kong International Airport, with guests of honour including the director-general of civil aviation, Captain Victor LIU; the general manager of aviation logistics of Airport Authority Hong Kong, Ian Kwok; the president of Asia Pacific Region of CTS International Logistics Corporation, Huang Ruo Shan; and the chairman of Hong Kong Air Cargo,  Chang Hai.

The opening of the first intercontinental route to the Middle East marks an important milestone in the airline’s development.

Hong Kong Air Cargo states it has always been committed to meeting the needs of different customers in the market with its air cargo logistics solutions.

The United Arab Emirates, as an important node of the country’s ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, plays a crucial role in connecting China and the Arab world.

The new route will help expand Hong Kong’s cooperation scope with the ‘Belt and Road’ related countries and consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation and logistics hub.

Hong Kong Air Cargo said in a LinkedIn post that it looks forward to providing customers with more air cargo logistics service options and adding momentum to the trade between Hong Kong and the Middle East.
