ASL Airlines Ireland extends Sabena technics ATR support deal

ASL Airlines Ireland has extended its ATR support partnership with Sabena technics.

According to Sabena technics, the company will support ASL Airlines Ireland’s four ATR 42-300F and 12 ATR 72-200F aircraft, providing the carrier with a large range of solutions including full PBH support and pool access as well as repair and overhaul of rotable components.

The servicing of the carrier’s ATR fleet will happen at the Sabena technics Dinard site, which the company says benefits from expertise in regional aircraft types.

“We are proud to count ASL Airlines as one of our most important European cargo operators for the past 15 years and this agreement demonstrates their confidence in the quality and efficiency of our solutions. It is a true mark of trust, especially in these challenging times”, commented Sabena technics chief operating officer Philippe Delisle.

New hangar investment

“With our customised PBH programme, we are able to keep component supply, repair & overhaul costs optimised while maintaining high reliability, fleet performance and timely AOG support”, Delisle continued.

Sabena technics, which has recently invested in a new 10,000 m² hangar facility in Bordeaux offering more capacity for the company’s civil and military customers, says it currently has over 220 aircraft under PBH support.

Operational reliability

ASL Airlines Ireland has its main base in Dublin and the carrier also maintains aircraft and crew bases in 10 European countries and Hong Kong. The airline operates B737 and ATR turbo prop freight services for FedEx, DHL and UPS in Europe, as well as operating seasonal European passenger flights and daily passenger flights to the US for Aer Lingus.

ASL Airlines Ireland’s logistic manager Cormac Martin commented on the extension of the agreement: “ASL Airlines Ireland Ltd is pleased to join forces with Sabena technics for Rotable Component Support on our fleet of ATR aircraft. We look forward to working together to ensure that our customers continue to benefit from ASL’s industry leading levels of operational reliability, safety and customer’s satisfaction.”
